OUR BEGINNINGS WERE HUMBLE
Many called me crazy, maybe just as crazy as the year 2020. Who would open a new business during a pandemic? Me of course! We had to shut our doors in March of 2020 due to governor orders caused by Covid-19, we were shut down for 1.5 months, during the shut down my mind wandered, my dreams grew bigger! This crazy idea of opening my own shop started rattling through my brain more and more! I had so much time to think, stress, wonder and research. One thing lead to another and I found a building I fell in love with and everything else just followed suit! Scary times?! YES!! Doubts? YES!! But I did it! And I have killed it!
THE BEAUTIES
BAMBI SHACKFORD
Owner/Stylist
Bambi has been in the salon industry since 2010. From the beginning she has always loved doing hair, nails and facial waxing services. In 2017 she decided to take the plunge into learning Eyelash Extensions through Novalash where she passed her Classic Extension Course. Doing lashes did very well for her, so in 2020 she took the American Volume and London Volume courses, becoming certified in all Novalash Eyelash trainings. In 2023 she won Novalash 'Most natural lash extension' Award, which was a worldwide event. In 2021 she jumped into learning hair extensions with Dream Catchers. In the end of 2023 she did a weekend training with Babe Extensions, learning all 4 installments. Bambi specializes in highlights, blowouts, Lash Extensions, Hair Extensions and Eyebrow Waxing. Bambi lives in Center Conway, NH with her husband Broughton (who has put all his extra time helping build B.You Beauty Bar) and 2 kids. Her spare time is spending quality time outside with her family, either hiking, playing with the kids outside or spending it by the water with her family. In her senior year book you can see her dream when she grew up was to open a salon based on photography and hair, her love of photography dwindled away over time but her love for hair just kept growing.

She specializes in formal hair design for bridal parties or proms and color for all hair types, her love for mastering her blonde clients has grown a lot recently. Her working at the Beauty Bar has sparked her interest to learn new services that we offer, at the end of 2020 she took the course with Novalash Eyelash Extensions and is now certified in Classic lashes. ANDY EMERY
Stylist
Andy has grown up in the valley and is truly blessed to be apart of this caring community and raise her family in it. In 2008 she graduated from the Cosmotech School of Cosmetology in Maine. She was super eager to get out into the real world and show them her true passion for hair. She does all hair services, eyelash & brow tinting. She has pride in all the work she creates but she specializes in fall toned colors and darker toned hair. She also is a truly amazing artist when it comes to her formal styles and updos, she finds those to be her most rewarding service she provides. Andy has a new love for giving her clients the best results with our Smoothing system, giving her clients the frizz-free hair they deserve. In late 2020 she took the Novalash Eyelash Extension course and received her certification in Classic lashes. In 2021 she took the American Volume course and is certified in American Volume lashes. Early 2024 she joined a few of the Stylists and got certified in Babe Hair Extesnions, learning all methods of Extension installs. Washington Valley her whole life, and currently resides in Maine with her Daughter. Logan also works as a Dietary Aid at our local Hospital, where she has worked for many years. In 2014 Fahliesha graduated from Empire Beauty School in Pennsylvania where she received her cosmetology license. She then moved back to New Hampshire in 2015 and decided Nails were her passion and furthered her education at Laird Institute of Spa therapy, graduating with a dual license in 2016. She does all Nail services including Manicures, Pedicures, gel/shellac applications along with dip powder. She specializes in UV gel extensions on the nails which tends to be a healthier alternative than acrylic. She also offers acrylic services to meet all her clients needs and bringing her clients dream nails to life. She received her certification with Babe Hair Extensions in 2023, learning all methods of installation. In 2024 she took the Novalash Classic course and is now certified to do Classic lashes, later in the year she worked with Bambi to become more familiar with American Volume lashes and has discovered a true passion for lash extensions and hopes to build more clientele in this service . She lives in Effingham with her 2 girls. Esthetician
Mia is a licensed Esthetician with a passion for helping others feel confident, refreshed and cared for. After graduating high school in May 2024, she began her Esthetics journey in November 2024 and went on to graduate from Aveda in Maine, April 2025. Following graduation, Mia began working full-time in childcare. August 2026 she got the push from our very own Kellsey to pursue her passion for Esthetics and opened her schedule to clients in the evenings, allowing her to provide relaxing, personalized services to those who work during the day but still want to make time for some self-care. Mia enjoys providing customized facials and back treatments. Her services also includes; Spray tans, facial waxing, brow laminating, lash lifts, lash/brow tints. She's hoping to add eyelash extensions into her service menu in the near future. She strives to create a welcoming, comfortable experience for every client while helping them look and feel their best. Mia lives in Fryeburg, ME with her family and boyfriend. Outside of the Spa, she enjoys shopping, practicing self-care, fishing and spending time with her family and friends. Mia loves to travel and is always looking forward to her yearly cruises. Mia is excited to continue growing her Esthetics career and looks forward to seeing everyone in her books!

Kellsey originally started off as a client of the Beauty Bar and became a receptionist in 2023. Her daily involvement with everyone made her realize that the Beauty industry was where she wanted to be. In January 2024 she was enrolled in Esthetic classes at Empire Beauty School in Laconia, NH. She finished her classes the end of May 2024. She also furthered her education and enrolled in a makeup course, where she since has made many brides happy with her great attention to detail. The end of 2024 Kellsey was trained by Bambi in Novalash Eyelash Extensions and realized her true passion is in Eyelash Lifts and Tints, which she has since specialized in. In early 2025 Kellsey and Bambi took a Spray Tan course with Sjolie Spray tans and has since also loved the endless results she can give her clients to bring confidence into their lives. Kellsey resides in Sandwich NH with her husband Zach and 3 kids. In the summer you will find her on a boat with her family or somewhere on the beach side. Meaghan has been practicing since 2020, having graduated from New Hampshire Institute for Therapeutic Arts in 2019. Since then, she has worked in many arenas of massage, whether in the spas, a chiropractic office; as well as her own space. Since learning the Foundational 5 (Swedish, Sports, Lymphatic, Circulatory and Neuro Muscular) at NHITA, she has grown her massage knowledge by learning the applications of Table Thai, Myofascial, Cupping, Gua Sha and Acupressure. Meaghan enjoy helping clients manage pain and discomfort by not only treating them on the table, but also giving them ideas for how to help themselves in between massage appointments. After having worked in the hotel spas for over a year, she is excited to reopen her own practice again at the Beauty Bar, so that she may gain repeat clients to help with their long term goals of becoming more able-bodied; physically and mentally. She looks forward to working at B.You Beauty, as there is nothing more rewarding than helping people with their pain management.

Jess graduated from the NH Institute for the Therapeutic Arts in 2022. They fell in love with massage therapy because touch in its simplest form has the power to deeply heal. Jess decided to go to massage school after taking a 10-day silent meditation course, and experiencing how impactful massage therapy, somatic therapy, and strength training combined can be in restoring the mind-body connection. They are interested in the space between neuroscience, strength training, somatic healing, trauma aware touch, and social justice. Their background is in environmental conservation, agriculture, education, and studio arts. Their interests have brought them across the world- from studying the Hochstetter's frog and hiking through the remote rivers of New Zealand; cycling across the Pacific Northwest building affordable housing; thru-hiking the Long-Trail in Vermont; working on small New England organic Farms; and deep diving into ag-tech and social justice and in the heart of it all, San Francisco. Their heart lives in the red canyons of the desert and in the balsam fir of the White Mountains. Jess creates repurposed jewelry, organizes community building events, and works to provide affinity spaces for women and the LGBT+ community in the Mount Washington Valley. In their free time they like to swim, bike, white water kayak, climb, hike, go canyoneering, make zines, sit on the floors of bookstores, doodle, laugh, dance, cook, farm, play with friends, and watch things grow. Jess may be found lurking around icicles, mountains, deserts, farms, puddles of water of all sizes, food, or piles of art supplies.
